Attending a college fest can be a lot to handle. And it can lead to a lot of stress, paving the path to stress management. Organising an event may lead to fun moments and a lot to work and learn, it is more relevant to learning about the end moment changes. These modifications that are performed either backstage or on stage have a lot of relevance to the plot twists of life itself. Right when it is thought that it is all good and ready to start, a new variation with a change in variable is introduced. And the whole equation gets unbalanced. I do not remember how many times I have sat with my team, listening to the continuous changes from morning to evening. And if that was not enough, passing the time is another of their favourite plays. College fest are for enjoyment, but only those who are not in the organising committee. Because it is hell there.
And it does not stop with the coordinators’ wishes. It begins there and spans over to the highest authorities in hierarchy. Because, what better place to exercise the power and how to let go of a chance so wonderful to irritate the students. The college fests have an uncontrollable mob to deal with. And the organising committee gets to shoulder all these responsibilities. The timing is absolutely epic to not let our own selves enjoy and forget being with your friends when a load of work rests on your shoulders.
I have mostly been in the stage committee and it is a burden. It may look quite garnishing and shiny to think of standing there but the workload is huge, the management strict, tension thick, and intervention epic. I just don’t understand how and why people think a thirty second delay is a panic when they wait for thirty minutes for their chief guest. The itinerary changes for them anyway, so why go for the whole schedule to run slow? The members have no ounce of respect from anyone. It is just a show at the end. It finishes and everyone goes home. It does not help anywhere in academics, let alone missing classes. At the end of the day, it is about your own wish to learn and manage things. It is for your own pleasure. Do not let anyone fool you that it will help in placements. It can give you an edge but not so great. At least for me, this is the truth. I have enjoyed it thoroughly but I am also guilty of being there. Thus, I request you to be in fests and take authority only if you want to. And when the situation demands, do not let your guards down on any moment that someone can trample you. Be there to support others and never let anyone boss around you, fellow colleagues, or the authorities. Truth is the ultimate weapon, and it can be wielded at any time it needs to be.
